Balance. This is what many of us are seeking in our lives as we manage family, work and/or school while also attending to our personal well-being.
Yoga is a mind-body practice designed to improve overall health, strength, and flexibility in people of all ages and fitness levels.
Yoga can help you:
Release stress and tension
Relax your body and mind
Refresh your spirit and soul
And, BALANCE your life.
Balance Yoga4u was developed by Khadijah Muhammad in 2009 as a way to promote her love of Yoga and wellness and to assist others in bringing balance to their life.
In addition to being a master's level social worker and educator, Khadijah Muhammad is a Registered Yoga Teacher (200 hour) and Certified Personal Trainer.
It is her goal to increase the number of people who practice yoga. In particular, she would like to introduce yoga and its benefits to individuals who are unlikely or feel they are unable to practice yoga due to age or fitness level. It is her desire to assist people in improving their overall well-being and manage the stress in their life through Yoga.
In 2000, Khadijah began to consistently incorporate daily fitness and wellness activities in her life after gaining 20 pounds while attending graduate school. She lost 25 pounds in two years by changing her diet and exercising.
She was introduced to Yoga in 2003 as a way to cope with the sudden death of her father.
In June 2005, Khadijah, her mother and youngest daughter went to Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health to attend a 2 night Retreat and Renewal session. It was a life changing experience.
She learned how to incorporate yoga principles on and off the yoga mat. She deepened her commitment to yoga and wellness. She and her mother have returned to Kripalu each year since 2005 participating in a variety of yoga programs.
Khadijah became a Certified Personal Trainer in December 2007.
